Galaxy Season 13

MLS kicks off season 13 this Sunday. My beloved Galaxy travel to Colorado for week one. The match is 6:30 PM PST on Saturday.

The last two season's have been disastrous for the team. The last three seasons have been tougher to watch than the guy in Venice Beach who has no arms and no legs but insists on break dancing for change. You don't want to see it, and you don't want to give your money to it. Sadly I share the disease that soccer fans around the world have, and I can't stop going to see my team.

The Galaxy haven't had a real coach since Sigi Schmid was fired in 2004. Steve Sampson was awful and the players worked around him. Frank Yallop cracked under the pressure of Beckham's arrival and left for San Jose. Last year I was convinced that Yallop would be great, but his player selection and tactics were awful.

Now the Galaxy are coached by Ruud Gullit, who is one of the top 20 players of all time. I really hope he brings something that has been lacking in the club since ever, a sense of professionalism.
So far, he seems like he knows what he's doing. The players have a professional trainer & dietitian. This seems like the first time the team is trying to cover every detail to have a successful season.

I am so pumped for this season because I think it's going to be different from the past few that have been so horrible. Tomorrow I'll talk about the players.
