Guilty TV Pleasure - Kyle XY
I can't believe I enjoy a show on the ABC Family channel, but somehow I keep watching Kyle XY. The show is so bad, but I somehow tune in every week, or at least download the latest episode as soon as I can if I miss it.
The premise of the show is awesome. A high schooler, Kyle, who was created in a lab and lived in an experimental environment somehow escapes the lab only to be taken in by a family who happens to have a mother that takes care of foster kids. Among Kyle's awesome sci-fi powers are the ability to float, move things with his mind, interface with computers by touching them, use his super brain to do the most advanced math on Earth, and be an incredible athlete. Throughout the show he learns how to live in a family and interact with people, two things he never experienced in a lab. Of course the evil company that created him tries to retrieve him, which is the over-arching and repeating conflict of the show. Sounds interesting and cool right?
The characters on the show are absolutely unlikable. Half of the casts are teenagers who know thyself way too well for high school kids and they all have the vocabulary of literature majors. The dialog is really dumb and there are side stories with the uninteresting characters that last forever. On top of that is a family oriented theme that is really cheesy and bad. The show aggravates me so much, yet the prospects of the sci-fi keep me interested. Anyone else watch this show?

I've heard good things about it. Although all those good things have come from my little sister, who also watches Degrassi and Secret Life of an American Teen.
