Two places to try out around L.A....

On Friday night I went to the Golden Gopher with a friend. The bar is in a gritty spot of downtown LA, and it's neighbor is a topless bar. Also, be prepared to step around some bums and miscreants. Once you're inside, the place is pretty nice. It's not divey, but it's a little sceney. It's definitely a cool central location to meet up with people from around town. Parking in a nearby lot was free, although a sign said $3.00.

On Saturday, my upper back muscles were tweaking out for some strange reason. Maybe years of horrible posture and sleeping on my stomach have caught up to me. I called Shiatsu of California in Pasadena for a massage to see it that would help. I can definitely say it did. If you need a big burly Japanese man to pound your back and loosen your muscles, Shiatsu of California will definitely do it. I must admit it was a little pricey, but the loose feeling has lasted through today (4 days.)
