Last Night I saw Radiohead at the Hollywood Bowl. I've wanted to see them live forever, and I've missed out on tickets the last 3 times they've been in LA. I actually missed out on them again this time, but my friend Scott came through and I was the l… more »

Music - The Tyde at the Echo

Permalink 08/23/08 09:57, by jamesey, Categories: Movies , Tags: echo, indie, music, tyde
Last night I got to check out my favorite local band for the first time in a long time. The Tyde played at The Echo with Beachwood Sparks and a few other bands. It was weird seeing a Tyde lineup without an organist, but also with 3 guitarists and a tambo… more »

You know when everyone tells you that you'd enjoy something, and it gets hyped up so much you end up not wanting to see what all the fuss is about? That's what happened to me with Battlestar Galactica. The 2004 remake (or re-imagining as the creators cal… more »

So Much Sport

Permalink 08/18/08 07:20, by jamesey, Categories: Happenings
I must have watched 10 hours of sport yesterday. After waking up and going to the gym, I sat on my couch for about 6 hours straight. I switched between the Olympics, the start of the Bundesliga (GER), and the start of the Premier League (ENG). I thin… more »

These two news items really grabbed my attention. They are similar to the discovery of the orange indian tribe that was discovered in Brasil back in May. Gorillas have been on the endangered species list, but weeks ago, a huge settlement of gorilla… more »

The title of this post is my rendition of the drumming from the Olympics theme song I had in my head all weekend. After the incredible opening ceremony, I watched about 8 hours of the games on Saturday and Sunday. Last night's finish to the 4x100 swim re… more »

Olympics 2008!!

Permalink 08/08/08 07:27, by jamesey, Categories: Happenings , Tags: olympics
The Olympic's opening ceremony is tonight and I can't wait to watch. China has so many people and resources at their disposal that the ceremony can't help but be grand. In the USA, we have to succumb to NBC's coverage which is typically light on spor… more »
