Movie Review - Bottle Shock
After a weekend of work, work, and more work, I decided to make my Labor Day as relaxing as possible. I checked out the trailers for movies in my neighborhood, and Bottle Shock was my pick for a light movie that doesn't require much thought.
Follow up:
Bottle Shock is based on a true story, but very loosely. The tale is of Napa Valley winemakers in the 1970's trying to gain worldwide respect and they do so through a British man who holds a competition in France. The names of the main characters and wineries are real.
The movie is a light comedy with good guys battling their own character flaws. There wasn't really and drama between the characters, and how could there be? Everyone is so relaxed from constantly drinking wine that no one has energy to pick fights with anyone else.
Lovers of wine will love this movie as much as Sideways. Even if you don't love wine, it's a great movie about being passionate for something you believe in and are dedicated to.
