I'm in Washington DC!!

I flew out to Washington DC today to see my sister and an annual meet-up of debauchery amongst friends. I've never been here before, so I can't wait to explore the capitol tomorrow. My sister picked me up from the airport, and after a quick subway ride to downtown, we met Keith at the RFD bar for food and drinks.

My airport experience was not very fun. The brilliant security guards at LAX decided my two Nature's Best Crunchy Granola bars were too dangerous for a plane flight. I know they leave an explosion of flavor in your mouth, but this was ridiculous. My snacks were confiscated and all I could do was mutter under my breath in my bare feet. The terrorists have won.

The other annoying detail about my trip out was the ancient airplane I flew cross country in. One would suspect that an airplane going from LAX to DC would have an in flight movie. NAY! Not on Alaska airlines. Their jets from the olden times don't even have phones or headphone jacks. I was unprepared so I played solitaire on my phone for 2 hours and then tried to nap between the huge man and a smelly lady.
