Dinnner for 5

I overheard a discussion at a stop light today while walking to the gym. Two people were discussing the top 4 people they'd have over for a dinner.  I thought long and hard about this inbetween sets of my workout. Here's mine.

1. Henry Rollins -You may know him as the in your face screaming rocker from Black Flag, but he's also a well traveled intellectual who seems down to Earth. He's a great speaker, and great observor of the world.

2. Arnold Schwarzenegger - From Mr. Olympia, to action star, to Governor. He seems undefeatable. I'd like to hear his thoughts. He doesn't hold back.

3. George Weah - He's  the former FIFA World Player of the year, and only African to win the prize. Once he retired, he dedicated his life to Liberian Politics and improving life in Africa. Whenever I hear him speak, he seems very eloquent and thoughtful for someone who played soccer his whole life.

4. Stephen Moffat - I really like  his work on Doctor Who, Coupling, Sherlock, and a few other endeavors he's been a part of. He seems hilarious and inciteful. I'm sure he could tell the story of my dinner party perfectly.

Who I didn't pick, but came close to choosing.

Billy Corgan - His music is great and he leads my favorite band, but when he starts talking, he gets arrogant and egotistical. He's intelligent, but comes really close to crazy and I think that would put off the other guests.

Diego Maradona - See Billy Corgan, but replace music with soccer.

Bill Hicks - First, he's dead. Second, I think I know how he'd try to lead the discussion. It'd turn 100% liberal pretty quickly.

Bill Murray - While he would triple the cool factor in the room, I don't know enough about him off the screen to invite him.

Shirley Manson - Lead singer from Garbage. She's always seemed natural and forthright in whatever she does. I passed on her because I don't know enough about her.

Danny Boyle - I like his movies. He might be a better pub partner than a dinner guest.

Jesca Hoop - Little known soloist who makes great music. Might be better for an all musical guests dinner party.

Darren Rademaker - From my favorite local band, The Tyde, but I'm not sure he'd have a good time.
